Every pathway ends with a tangible, competition-ready project. As a student portfolio and Demo Day enrichment program, Onward sends each fellow home with work worth showing, created across our 10-week program and summit.
Browse all gifted and talented programs for grades 5-12 or read about the creative writing mentorship program for gifted students.
Every outcome is achievable because of our proven methodology and real-world alignment.
Structured progression from exploration to creation, culminating in a 5-day immersion.
Guidance from Harvard students and alumni with verified credentials.
Projects aligned with actual competition requirements and deadlines.
AI-powered progress tracking mapped to G&T admission criteria.
Students from around the world collaborating, learning, and creating together.
Explore the types of projects students will complete in each pathway
Sample Project: Grade 7-8
An IoT device that monitors water quality in school drinking fountains and alerts when filters need changing.
School water fountains often have outdated filters, but no one notices until water tastes bad.
Build a sensor-connected dashboard using Arduino concepts (simulated) and a web app that displays real-time water quality data.
Students will learn to build something a school could actually use.
A mobile-friendly app that uses image recognition to diagnose plant diseases in the school garden.
The school garden loses plants to diseases that nobody could identify in time.
Create a web app that lets students photograph leaves and receive AI-powered diagnosis with treatment suggestions.
Students will combine biology knowledge with app development skills.
Sample Project: Grade 5-6
An interactive simulation showing how P-waves and S-waves provide seconds of warning before an earthquake hits.
Students don't understand why earthquake warnings only give seconds of notice.
Build an animated simulation that lets users place sensors and see how wave propagation creates warning time.
Students will explain complex physics through interactive design.
Sample Project: Grade 9
A real-time dashboard tracking solar panel output vs. school electricity consumption.
Schools install solar panels but nobody can see how much energy they produce.
Create a dashboard that visualizes solar production, grid consumption, and carbon savings in real-time.
Students will create tools that could influence real school decisions.
Every project develops transferable skills mapped to G&T admission criteria.
Students will be prepared for real-world competitions.
These are the stories we're building toward. Join our pilot and help us make them real.
"Before Onward, I thought science fairs were for 'smart kids.' Now I have a working prototype and I placed at regionals. I'm that smart kid now."
"My story is in a real anthology. Not a school newspaper - an actual book. My grandmother cried when I showed her."
"I spoke at a Model UN conference. Me. The quiet kid who never raised her hand. Now I have opinions and I'm not afraid to share them."
"For the first time, I can actually see what my daughter is learning. The skill dashboard shows me her growth week by week."
"She used to say 'nothing' when I asked about school. Now she won't stop talking about her project. That's priceless."
"Her portfolio will make college applications stand out. Real projects, real skills, real evidence of growth - not just grades."
"I've tried enrichment programs before. They always meant more work for me. This is different - Harvard student mentors handle the heavy lifting."
"Finally, a program that actually differentiates. My advanced students are challenged while struggling students get scaffolding."
"I have data to show parents exactly where their kids grew. Not vague progress reports - real skill trajectories with evidence."
